The Journey of a Mural (Part 2) – From Upper Merion to the World

The King of Prussia Historical Society shared the fascinating story behind the Colonial Electrical Building mural, originally painted by Ted Kunda in 1976 to celebrate the U.S. Bicentennial. Inspired by William B. Trego’s artwork, Kunda created the massive 20x80-foot piece on plywood panels, which later found a home at Philadelphia International Airport before being carefully preserved by the Kunda family. In 2013, it was restored and reinstalled in Upper Merion to honor the township’s history.

Future Focus: River Trail at Valley Forge | New Townhomes Near Nature

The River Trail at Valley Forge, located on Mancill Mill Road, will introduce 119 new townhouses in a scenic setting near Valley Forge Park. Expected to be completed in 2025 or 2026, this development will offer residents convenient access to outdoor recreation while expanding Upper Merion’s housing options. Its proximity to nature and modern design make it a highly anticipated addition to the community.

Upper Merion Girl Scouts Collecting Old Crayons for Recycling Initiative

Got old, broken crayons lying around? The Girl Scouts are running a collection drive to support The Crayon Initiative, an organization that recycles used crayons into new ones. Instead of letting them sit in landfills for centuries, you can give them a second life!

If you have crayon stubs from your kids or grandkids, now is the perfect time to clean them out and contribute to a great cause.
