PennDOT Launches $22.4 Million Sinkhole Remediation Project on U.S. 202 in Upper Merion Township

PennDOT will begin a $22.4 million sinkhole remediation project on Route 29 (Morehall Road) in East Whiteland Township and U.S. 202 (DeKalb Pike) between Saulin Boulevard and Henderson Road in Upper Merion Township, starting Monday, January 13. The project involves injecting grout beneath the pavement to stabilize the road and prevent future sinkholes. Drivers should expect weekday lane closures, traffic shifts, and full northbound and southbound closures on U.S. 202 in mid-February. Temporary traffic signals will maintain one lane of traffic on Route 29 during the work. The project is fully funded by federal dollars and aims to address ongoing sinkhole issues in both areas.
