Student Spotlight (Mock Feature)

There is nothing quite as nice as yummy frozen treats on a hot summer day!

Name: Jamie "Jam" McGiggle
Grade: 7th
School: Imagination Middle School

Spotlight Criteria:

  • Professional Snacker

  • Expert in All Things Nap-Related

About Jamie:
Jamie McGiggle is a proud seventh grader who has taken snacking to an Olympic level. Known for their ability to make even the most boring celery stick fun, Jamie is an innovator in the art of “snack fusion,” combining snacks from different food groups for maximum flavor. Jamie is also the undisputed nap champion at Imagination Middle, mastering the perfect 10-minute desk snooze without getting caught (mostly).

Fun Fact: Jamie once attempted to set a school record for the most gummy bears stacked in one minute. While only reaching four before the tower toppled, Jamie insists this record will be broken by the end of the year.

Why Jamie Inspires Us:
Jamie reminds us all to bring joy to everyday moments, whether it's by sharing funny snack combinations with friends or discovering new napping techniques that leave them (mostly) refreshed for algebra. Jamie’s zest for life is infectious, reminding everyone to slow down and appreciate the little things.

Future Goals:
Jamie plans to pursue a career as a “professional food tester,” with dreams of judging snack competitions worldwide. In their spare time, they’re working on perfecting a recipe for the ultimate nacho.

Malvern Prep Launches $65 Million Campaign to Transform Campus and Expand Scholarships

Malvern Preparatory School has launched a $65 million campaign, "Malvern. Forever.," to transform campus facilities, expand scholarships, and support academic growth. With $50 million already pledged, the campaign seeks community support to achieve its goals. Key projects include a new Student Life Center, enhanced scholarships, and an annual giving fund to sustain the school’s future.

Severe Drought Sparks Call for Water Conservation in Montgomery and

Chester Counties

Due to prolonged drought, Pennsylvania American Water is asking Montgomery County residents to voluntarily cut back on water use. Recommendations include reducing outdoor water activities and adopting water-saving habits indoors. This voluntary conservation effort covers much of Montgomery and parts of Chester County, which are facing increased drought-related fire risks.

High Voter Turnout Expected as Montgomery County Enhances Election Day Operations

Woman enters a polling location inside a mall to cast a ballot in the November 8, 2022 midterm election while two other women examine a ballot drop box.

Montgomery County officials have implemented extensive preparations for Election Day, with a focus on voter accessibility, security, and transparency. With 632,919 registered voters, the county has expanded outreach through satellite offices and mobile units, trained thousands of poll workers, and strengthened security measures amid high voter turnout expectations in the closely watched presidential race.
