  • Sportsmanship and Athletic achievement

  • Perseverance and Resilience

  • Special Skill and Hobbies

About Claire:
Claire has been competitively racing quarter midgets for the last 3 years. She works incredibly hard to be the best at her sport, racing 2-3 days a week during the season, and putting in many hours of practive whenever she can. She is one of a handful of female racers in the area, and she has achieved man wins and a number of track records. She is an excellent role model for other female racers, and she always maintains a positive and encouraging attitude, even when races don’t go her way.

More about Claire: When not racing, Claire is also a member of the Philadelphia Girls Choir, and was selected to sing in The Nutcracker at the Kimmel Center this December. She plans to participate in Girls on the Run this year, and she has just started playing the viola in her school orchestra. In her free time, she enjoys sewing and fashion, as well as spending time with her family and pets (two cats, four chickens, a jumping spider, and lots of fish).

West Conshohocken Secures $500K Grant to Transform MacKenzie Park

West Conshohocken Borough has received a $500,000 grant from Pennsylvania’s Local Share Account program to support a comprehensive renovation of MacKenzie Park. The grant will fund a new park pavilion, an upgraded outdoor basketball court facility, and improvements to stormwater management. Council President Stephen Blumenthal highlighted the community benefit of the project, which requires no matching funds. The borough will continue to pursue further funding and seek community input as the project progresses.

David McCormick Wins Key Senate Seat in Pennsylvania, Defeating Longtime Democrat Bob Casey

David McCormick, former CEO of Bridgewater Associates, has won Pennsylvania's pivotal U.S. Senate seat, defeating Democratic Senator Bob Casey in a costly and closely watched race. McCormick’s campaign emphasized Casey’s alignment with policies blamed for inflation and domestic issues, and he drew on significant support from high-profile Republicans, including Donald Trump, who also performed well in Pennsylvania. While Casey’s campaign has not conceded, citing uncounted ballots, McCormick’s win marks a blow to Pennsylvania’s Democratic stronghold and strengthens the Republicans' new Senate majority.

Fire Risk Warning Issued for Southeastern Pennsylvania Due to Winds and Dry Conditions

This picture was snapped just as the Eagle Creek Trail fire jumped the ridgeline, just as the moon was rising.

The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for Friday in several Pennsylvania counties, citing high winds and low humidity, which could lead to rapidly spreading fires. Residents are advised to avoid outdoor burning, secure burn barrels, safely discard smoking materials, and monitor any outdoor fires closely. These steps are crucial in reducing wildfire risk during these conditions.
