Your Weekly Warm Up

👋Good Morning, Upper Merion!

I’m already over losing the hour. The longer days and warmer temps have officially snapped me out of my winter slumber! I can smell that summer “vacation” (teacher) on the horizon.

Ok - sponsors! Many thanks to them for being here and allowing me to bring this to you twice per week! Our resident realtor, Carolyn Kaufmann - Main Line Jobs .com - The Main Line Guide (who provides SO MUCH content for this newsletter) - Our friends at Magic Travel Pros, who are now apparently very busy - and our newest sponsor, Main Line Athletes.

Today’s sponsor spotlight is on our newest sponsor, the Main Line Athletes. MLA is a youth organization for students aged 6-12, providing pop up “clinics,” and weekly programs in the surrounding area. This is NOT your typical youth sports programming. Think: capture the flag, kickball, etc. It is facilitated with the belief students learn best through play. Their games and activities provide a lot of freedom, a lot of opportunity to practice foundational movements, and most importantly a lot of fun.

They’ll be offering summer programming and pop up clinics in the Upper Merion Area this summer. Make sure to follow them on Facebook HERE for their summer programming announcements to come mid spring.

OK…..let’s get to today’s happenings!

Ciao for now!

💡Spotlight Event💡

On Thursday, March 13th, at 6:00 PM, the Montgomery County St. Patrick's Parade committee will be hosting an Irish Coffee contest at the Swedeland Fire Company, 609 A Street, King of Prussia, PA 19406, and we would love for your attendance. We believe it would be a fantastic opportunity for you to engage with our community in a meaningful way. We have invited organizations, pubs, restaurants, and taverns to join the contest by crafting their own unique Irish Coffee. Additionally, their table display will be judged based on creativity and adherence to the theme, "My Nation. My Heritage." Your presence would mean a great deal to the community. We will have Irish music performed by Ray McGroary. The contest will be judged by past and present St. Patrick’s Parade Grand Marshals, with the winner receiving a custom trophy inspired by the National Hockey league’s Stanley Cup. This trophy will be passed down each year to the next winner, adding a fun and ongoing tradition to our event.

Today’s share: A Nature Escape to Valley Forge National Historical Park

Spring’s teasing us with 60-degree days this week, and with daylight lingering until 7 PM, it’s the perfect time to escape into nature at Valley Forge National Historical Park. Skip the usual spots and head to the Joseph Plumb Martin Trail, a 5 mile paved loop with rolling meadows and Schuylkill River views that’ll melt away the workday grind. Pack a light jacket and some binoculars; the early spring bird migration is kicking off, and you might spot a red-winged blackbird or two. Start at the Visitor Center parking lot around 5 PM to catch the golden hour glow. You won’t be sorry! Whether you’re walking solo or with a furry friend (leashes required!), this trail’s a quick reset just minutes from home. Check the park’s website for any ranger-led evening walks this week, they’re free and fill up fast!
