Student Spotlight (Mock Feature)

There is nothing quite as nice as yummy frozen treats on a hot summer day!

Name: Jamie "Jam" McGiggle
Grade: 7th
School: Imagination Middle School

Spotlight Criteria:

  • Professional Snacker

  • Expert in All Things Nap-Related

About Jamie:
Jamie McGiggle is a proud seventh grader who has taken snacking to an Olympic level. Known for their ability to make even the most boring celery stick fun, Jamie is an innovator in the art of “snack fusion,” combining snacks from different food groups for maximum flavor. Jamie is also the undisputed nap champion at Imagination Middle, mastering the perfect 10-minute desk snooze without getting caught (mostly).

Fun Fact: Jamie once attempted to set a school record for the most gummy bears stacked in one minute. While only reaching four before the tower toppled, Jamie insists this record will be broken by the end of the year.

Why Jamie Inspires Us:
Jamie reminds us all to bring joy to everyday moments, whether it's by sharing funny snack combinations with friends or discovering new napping techniques that leave them (mostly) refreshed for algebra. Jamie’s zest for life is infectious, reminding everyone to slow down and appreciate the little things.

Future Goals:
Jamie plans to pursue a career as a “professional food tester,” with dreams of judging snack competitions worldwide. In their spare time, they’re working on perfecting a recipe for the ultimate nacho.

Montgomery County Takes Center Stage in Final Push for Harris’s Campaign

At a high-energy rally in Norristown, Pennsylvania, Michelle Obama and leading Democrats rallied thousands in support of Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign. With Election Day approaching, speakers underscored the importance of voter turnout in Montgomery County, a pivotal region in Pennsylvania. Obama called on attendees to elect leaders who prioritize unity and inclusivity, contrasting Harris’s vision with Trump’s approach. Local officials highlighted the need for continued community engagement, while the crowd’s chants and enthusiasm underscored a shared commitment to voting and advocacy for freedom and equality.

$63.7M I-476 Project Brings Lane Closures, Delays in Montgomery and Delaware Counties

Expect 2 Minute Red Light sign in front of a single lane bridge.

PennDOT’s $63.7 million improvement project on I-476 will bring nighttime lane closures to parts of I-476 and I-76 in Montgomery and Delaware counties from November 4 to November 8. These closures, necessary for paving, bridge repairs, and guiderail work, may cause delays for drivers. The project, managed by H&K Group and expected to complete in late 2025, aims to improve road safety and infrastructure longevity.

Wildcats Begin 105th Season with Home Opener at Finneran Pavilion

Villanova’s Men’s Basketball team opens its season Monday against Lafayette, aiming for a third straight season-opening win under coach Kyle Neptune. The Wildcats will play without key player Eric Dixon, who is suspended for one game. New team members, including transfer guard Wooga Poplar and forward Enoch Boakye, are set to make their regular-season debut. Villanova will also face Columbia and NJIT later in the week.
