First Avenue Linear Park Transforms Community, Earns 2024 Montgomery Award
The First Avenue Linear Park and Road Diet Project in King of Prussia has received the 2024 Montgomery Award for its innovative design, which enhances safety and accessibility for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists. Spanning 12 years and five construction phases, the project includes an expansive multimodal path, landscaping, public amenities, and a road diet that transformed a hazardous four-lane road into a safer three-lane roadway. Funded by nearly $5 million in grants, this project highlights a successful collaboration between King of Prussia District, Upper Merion Township, and state and regional partners.
Spread Cheer: Toy Drive and Christmas Eve Parade in King of Prussia
The King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Company invites the community to bring holiday cheer to children by supporting their toy drive. On Christmas Eve at 1:45 PM, Santa and Mrs. Claus will parade with the fire company to CHOP King of Prussia, spreading festive joy.
Barkley Breaks Record as Eagles Defeat Panthers in Tight Contest
The Philadelphia Eagles earned their ninth consecutive win with a 21-16 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Despite early offensive struggles, Jalen Hurts contributed two touchdowns, and Saquon Barkley broke the Eagles' single-season rushing record. The defense played a pivotal role, securing critical stops in the fourth quarter to maintain the lead. Philadelphia now sits at 11-2 and remains in contention for the NFC’s top seed.
